I'm seeing an A, still, despite what's "meant." It's not about what you see, it's about what the masses see. Sometimes, that means changing your original idea. I've had to do that on several of my own designs for clients. Take in my own gallery the WDR logo I made. It seems to translate more as "WAR" rather than "WDR." That doesn't make it a bad design, though, it's just not communicating what I need it to the first time you look at it/what I NEED people to see. So, with that being said, I don't think this is a bad design, either. I rather like it and as also previously mentioned, the text is wonderfully crafted. I'd make the lower part of the D a bit thicker is all. Graphic Design can be picky like that.
